Hyper Acidity refers to the excessive production of stomach acid, which can lead to symptoms like heartburn, chest discomfort, sour belching, bloating, nausea, and a burning sensation in the stomach or throat. It is commonly triggered by unhealthy eating habits, irregular meal times, stress, excessive consumption of spicy foods, caffeine, alcohol, or prolonged use of certain medications. Acidity occurs when the stomach produces too much hydrochloric acid, which irritates the stomach lining and may cause acid to flow back into the food pipe (esophagus), leading to acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in chronic cases. Most cases can be managed with lifestyle changes and simple medications like antacids or proton-pump inhibitors. However, recurring acidity should not be ignored as it can lead to ulcers or more serious gastrointestinal conditions if left untreated.
